the name game

To figure out something by meditation or by a sudden flash of enlightenment…a Buddhist doctrine that enlightenment can be attained through direct intuitive insight… the quality of being good… Meditation... Peace… Calm… Contentment…

All definitions of our chosen baby name:

Zen

Assuming that we don't take one look at the picture once we have a referral and decide that the child in the photo is more of an "insert name here" than a "Zen", that will be our wee one's name. The current plan is to make her Vietnamese first name into her middle name, provided that it doesn't rhyme. I just can't deal with rhyming names. And for those of you wondering, despite the fact that my last name is hyphenated, hers will not be.

i LOVE dwell baby!

Since we will be waiting for a girl, I thought I'd post what will likely be the linens for the crib. I know, I know, pink... but I'm ok with pink, especially if I temper it with some brown. The goal will be to create a chic modern space with just a hint of girly charm. We plan to reupholster the rocking couch with some type of complementary fabric and use it in place of a rocking chair in the baby's room. Perhaps we will start the painting one weekend before the end of the year.

Our homestudy is complete, save a letter from one of my doctors. The doc said it was both mailed and faxed but it was never received. Hopefully it will magically appear this week.

The current plan is to go to Fort Smith for fingerprinting on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I hope to get that out of the way and receive our dossier instructions before the end of the month. Our goal to have the dossier complete by year end... keep your fingers crossed.

Also, we may be unveiling the name soon.
