a very long weekend and a shout out to my peeps in vietnam

This was a very long weekend, and I am completely exhausted. My fabulous grandmother, Omy, had an unfortunate accident that resulted in emergency surgery to repair a broken arm/elbow, and to stabilize a shattered patella. Since we only live about 3 hours away, my Dad and I hopped in the car and drove up to the hospital. Omy made it through the surgery just fine, and I'm happy to report that she should be able to go home sometime this week. It was great to see my grandparents, though the setting was less than ideal. We were at the hospital until the wee hours, and then I think we slept fewer than 4. I'm completely exhausted. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

All four Dillon families landed safely in Vietnam and will soon be on the way to meet their little ones face to face. Very, very, very cool.

don't you wish your diaper bag was hot like mine?

Check out my super swanky diaper bag! My pal Laura gave it to me this week. Seems she took one look at it while at a charitable silent auction and decided that it had to be mine. So, after narrowly outbidding her competition, she won, and I'm glad she did. I just love it! It's a Kecci Bellagio Positano messenger bag in deep chartreuse. It's stain resistant, water proof, and super cute! It'll also make a great carry-on bag for the trip. So Laura, if you are reading, THANK YOU!

I've been knitting again. The bear is my first ever attempt at a stuffed animal, and I think it turned out pretty well, considering. I'm hypercritical of my work, but I seriously doubt that anybody is gonna count the stitches or critique my technique, so I should probably stop knocking it and declare it perfect. So, take a gander at my newly completed bear. It's made with a silk & cashmere blend yarn so it is super soft and snuggley. Hopefully my intended recipient will like it as much as I do.

And, just in case you have somehow not been paying attention, Rachel, along with three other Dillon Families are on their way to Vietnam! I'm so excited that you'd almost think I was going.

Have a wonderful weekend!
