here's to little victories

I just received an email saying that the first part of our application is approved. Hooray! They will put the next batch of paperwork in the mail within the next few days and we'll start round two.

On a weird note, I received a copy of my birth certificate today. It says my name is Jessica Ann Johnston, Jr. So, either I'm a dude, or my parents have some explaining to do, or the state made a typo. I'm going with typo. Nice. Now I have to figure out how to have that corrected.

I think it was yummy, though Ken may disagree. He didn't voice an opinion which generally means that he would have preferred PB&J. It reminded me very much of that Asian slaw made with almonds and ramen, but subtract the almonds and ramen, and add lots of vinegar, fish sauce, and spicy chilies. And mint. And basil. Ok. It's not at all like he previously mentioned slaw. Not bad for a first attempt. I'd eat it again.
