homestudy update

A note from our wonderful social worker:

Hi guys...just an update on your homestudy. Our last visit together was on Nov 7 in your home. I completed the draft of your study today and sent it to Tulsa for review. They basically re-check my facts, look for typos, etc and then will email it back to me for approval and mailing. It can take up to two weeks to receive it back but hopefully it will be sooner than that.congratulations on being yet another step closer to your daughter!!

At first I was hopeful that we could complete our dossier by year end. Now I'm just hoping that the homestudy will be finalized and we will receive our dossier instructions by 12/31.Here's hoping for a speedy draft approval!

fees, schmees

For awhile there was alot of talk about a fee increase for our agency. Since we didn't receive the waiting family letter that covered said fee information, I decided to check in with Dillon to find out the scoop. Here is the response from my case manager:

Yes the international fee will increase for new families that are entering the program in January. This fee will not affect your family. In the waiting time letter that was sent out by email it stated that any family that has not received a referral by January will have to pay the new fee… but that was discussed and we changed it to affect only NEW families entering in January with their pre-application.

Sweet! No fee increase for me! Hooray!
