i'd like to give a shoutout to all the cookie bakin' peeps

Since it seems that all of blog land is consumed with tales of bake sales and/or frantic declarations that it is time to bake some holiday cookies, I thought I would share the recipes from my annual cookie exchange. If you would like to download the pdf, complete with photos, click here. This year we had 16 varieties of cookie shaped deliciousness ranging from embarrassingly simple to marginally complex, and every one of them completely worth the calories. I think I gained 5 pounds this week due to the fact that the husband I have almost entirely consumed about 8 dozen cookies, but who's counting?

where is my homestudy?

Uuuggh! Still waiting in homestudy approval. Not that I'm complaining or anything. Oh no, not me. According to all of the Dillon paperwork, anything can happen with international adoption, unexpected delays can occur throughout the process, and our patience is appreciated. Patience, eh? Just to be sure, I double checked the official definition of this dreaded word.

patience: bearing provocation, annoyance, misfortune, delay, hardship, pain, etc., with fortitude and calm and without complaint, anger, or the like.

Nope. Not a chance that I can be patient.
