hmmm... maybe this is what baby benadryl is for

Seems some unlucky folks were booted off a plane because of their daughters tantrum. I'm filled with a mixture of sadness, horror, sympathy and panic. Talk about a nightmare for those parents. As if it wasn't bad enough that the incident occurred, now it's spreading all over the world via newspaper, blogs, and the like. Those poor people. Not that I advocate drugging kids on flights, but perhaps it would've been an acceptable plan in this case. YIKES.

I just found a few more links pertaining to this story. This one provides a more detailed account of the incident from the parental perspective. This one is an op-ed piece. This one says you can prevent such outbursts with car seats, cheerios, and a favorite blanket. Um, what?!?!? I realise that I have never parented a toddler and therefore have little room to comment, but I'm pretty sure that a snack wouldn't have solved the problem. Kids have tantrums. Kids have tantrums in inconvenient locations at inopportune moments. It sucks, but it's true. Thanks goodness there were no cheerios involved or they would have likely been airborne.

I'm sure you guys will have lots of opinions, but there is one thing that I think we will all agree on... we do not want this to be us. Please, oh please, don't let this be us.
