shots, slings, and other things
On Wednesday evening we got our first round of shots. I know that a lot of folks skip them, but since I have an artificial heart valve and have to be careful about infections, the recommended shorts are required for me. We had the first round of HepA & HepB vaccinations. HepA burns. It burns alot. The HepB shot wasn't bad at all. We go back in a month for our second HepB and for the Typhoid vaccine. You can draw blood from me all day and I won't complain, but come at me with a syringe and I get panicky. I'm not looking forward to more shots, but I also don't want to get Typhoid Fever or Hepatitis in any of its forms.
We received our baby sling in the mail this week. I HATE IT! Sure, the design is lovely and it is fabulously compact for travelling, but it simply didn't work well for me. I tried the sling in various positions with two different kiddos. No matter how I adjusted the thing I simply didn't feel that the kids were secure. I loved my sling in theory but hated it in practice. I'm sending it back. I think I want a baby Bjorn, specifically this one.
The four Dillon families currently in VN are on track to head home next week! It looks like they will be in and out of the country in just under three weeks. I look forward to them getting home and giving their blogs a through update. Rachel has had connection issues and problems uploading her photos, so I'm chomping at the bit to see all of her photos once she returns. Carla has posted some pics though. Click here to see them.
We're going to the local Vietnamese restaurant for dinner this evening. Yumm-o! Maybe I'll manage to take a photo of our dinner. We'll see.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
