eighty days.

Good news in adoptionland yesterday. Dan & Elisabeth finally received Provincial Approval (PA), 80 long days after their LID. In 3-6 weeks they should get Travel Approval (TA) and find out their G&R date. This is awesome news. Less cool is the fact that we are going to the same province and have been waiting 50 days for our PA. Could it really take another month? Really? I feel a little sick.

So, assuming that we wait another 30 days, we're looking at PA close to 5/5, then TA close to 6/16, and G&R around 7/1. Of course this is purely theoretical. I'm starting to doubt that we'll be home for his birthday.

For those of you who need a process refresher:

1. Dossier Translation.
2. Log In Date (LID). We were logged in on 2/14. Based on our LID, we can expect to travel between 5/14 and 8/14.
3. Baby Dossier/Provincial Approval. After the DIA sets the LID, they send a letter to the child's province requesting that the local Justice Department begin compiling the child's legal documentation, also referred to as the child's dossier. It can take about a week for the letter to be received by the local Justice Department. The process for compiling a child's dossier can take 30-45 business days, if not longer. This is currently in process... at least theoretically.
4. Dossier Review. This is the part where paperwork goes to Hanoi.
5. G&R Date Set. .
6. Travel! Families should have approximately two weeks notice before travel.
Have I mentioned lately that I am incredibly impatient? Maybe I need to get one of my own t-shirts. Sheesh. Waiting stinks.
