i'm sorry, did you say fifty... as in 5-0?

FIFTY PAIRS OF SHOES! The generous folks over at Robeez have a charitable arm called Heart & Sole. I spoke with them today, half expecting to hear that they had already met their monthly quota, or that they already had a donation scheduled for Beckett's orphanage, but instead I seem to have hit the mother load! They offered to send 50 pairs of shoes to me to deliver to the orphanage. All I have to do is pay the modest shipping fee and promise to send them a photo or two. I think I can handle that! Needless to say, I am beyond excited. I'm also officially closing the donation suitcase. I have no clue how I'll manage to fit all of these shoes into our luggage, but I will find a way. Expect another post regarding the fabulous pile of shoes once I receive them in two or three weeks.

Thanks to Jenna for bringing this program to my attention, and thanks to Robeez for being so gosh darn fabulous!

Want to know more? Visit the Heart & Sole website or email me and I'll give you the contact information that I used.

Hooray for shoes!

is no news really good news?

Call me delusional, but I have a new outlook. As long as things are taking, there can only be two options. One, there is some kind of problem with our paperwork, or two, the dillon staff in VN has just been too busy with families in the country to send out updates. Since I have been repeatedly assured that there are no problems with our paperwork, I have to believe that the second option is true. To that end, I am now living under the possibly delusional theory that our paperwork has actually moved on from Hanoi and we simply haven't been informed. I'm secretly (or not so secretly now) hoping that we will just get notice of a scheduled G&R date, or at least get our visa clearance. It's a pipe dream, I know, but can you blame me?

For you photo junkies out there, we went to the St. Louis Zoo, the Anheuser-Bush Brewery tour, and the very cool Laumeier sculpture park over the weekend. Clearly the husband has a gorilla issue that we should probably discuss. Just click on the links to see the pics.
