rock on.

We have a great loveseat. It rocks. Literally. As in, it has rockers beneath it instead of stationary feet. I adore this sofa. It is significantly older than me. My Mom remembers it being at my grandparents' house when she was in college. I was rocked to sleep on it almost every night as an infant. As a kid my cousins and I would have contests to see who could make it rock faster, and as an adult it I find that it is easy to get into such competitions with ones couch mate, whomever that might be. It's almost impossible to sit still on said sofa. In any event, I have had the "rockin couch" in my possession since my freshman year of college. As a wedding gift, my grandmother gave us money to have it reupholstered, but we had a drastic change in honeymoon plans due to 9/11 and used the couch funds to defer some trip expenses. After years of putting it off, we have finally had the rockin couch recovered for Beckett's room. It came back from the upholsterer this morning and I am in love. It doesn't photograph well, but it looks amazing! The upholstery lady gave it some additional stuffing so it is cushier than ever. I have always loved this couch... even after my college roommate burned a giant hole in it with our iron and the stuffing started to fall out. Now that it has been slightly refurbished, I look forward to hanging out on the rockin couch with Beckett.

I learned a new trick from Picasa Web Albums today. It seems that you can now place picasa slideshows directly into blogger, so I'm treating you to a slideshow of the nursery. It's still not complete, but we're getting there. Enjoy!
