a dragon, a goat, and a touch of the plague
This post is going to be chock full of randomness. Just take a deep breath and try to keep up. I'll apologize in advance if it's a little too stream of consciousness for your tastes.
Last week I bought Bex's Halloween costume. There is a distinct possibility that we might be overdoing the dragon references, but the costume was just too cute to pass up. Sure, it's not terribly original or particularly clever, but you have to admit he's pretty stinkin' cute.
Saturday morning we went to the Dillon pre-adoption workshop. We ran into some familiar faces and also met some folks that we hope to get to know better. Beckett felt the need to "talk" the whole time and then napped during lunch.
We took our first trip to the zoo on Saturday afternoon. Beckett cooed at the few big animals he saw, but most were inside or otherwise hiding so we decided to check out the petting zoo area. The little dude thought that was big fun. He got up close and personal with several goats and generally had a big time. We fed a few of the older goats and they rewarded our efforts by posing for some photos. I couldn't resist taking a picture of this sheep's crazy snarl, and of course we had to pose at the the silly photo op boards.
Sunday came, and the colds that everyone in our house had been fighting off for most of the week finally won. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck and even Ken wasn't up to snuff. Bex and I still have fever and a cough today so we may make a trip to the doctor. I must say that being sick with a sick baby makes for a very long morning. I need a nap.
Ken's first soccer game of the season was Sunday afternoon and for some silly reason we all decided we were well enough to go. Bad plan. Poor little baby has five giant mosquito bites on his head. Grrr! Looks like the babe and I will be avoiding twilight soccer games until the tiny vampire bugs have gone into hiding for the season.
So, that was our weekend. How about yours?
