crap and not crap

I'm a busy chick, and like all busy folks I like things that make my life a bit easier. Sometimes I get lucky and discover something that makes me happy, but other times I find things that make life even more complicated than it was to begin with. To that end I've decided to start a semi-regular feature about said items in my life. Hence, crap and not crap.

Crap. Incoco Dry Nail Applique is complete and utter crap. I can't be held accountable for my purchase as I was seduced by their cunning marketing prowess. I found myself rolling through Walgreens, lamenting the state of my nails and wishing I had the time to put a coat of sassy color on them, when what to my wondering eyes should appear but a beautifully enticing display of the "revolutionary" dry nail polish kits. I know. Nail polish is by definition not dry. That should have been my first clue. Unfortunately I has already begun to daydream about my soon to be five minute manicure, dropped a box into the cart and hurried home to give them a try. All I can say is thank goodness they were on sale, though free would have been too high a price. In theory you simply apply the applique to your nail, smooth it into place, file off the excess and then admire your work. Um. No. It didn't stick so smoothing was far less of an issue than adhesion. I reread the instructions. I even tried to warm my hands as suggested on their website, but no dice. The stupid things didn't stick. Guess I'll have to go get a real manicure.

Not crap. The Snack Trap snack cup. Love it. LOVE IT! It's a cool little cup with handles that is easy for little folks to hold. The lid is perforated so that a wee hand can go into the the cup, retrieve a snack, and exit the cup without spilling all of the contents onto the backseat of the car. Did I mention that I am in love with this thing? Sure, there is still the occasional stray cheerio cruising around the car but due to the snack traps' efforts their numbers are substantially diminished. All that to say, if you have little dudes or dudedettes who snack in the car, or the grocery cart, or the doctor's office, or really anywhere that you would prefer that the snack is somewhat contained, you need one of these. You need it. I bought mine at the local Baby Depot located in the Burlington Coat Factory, but I think they have them at Babies-R-Us as well, or you can go the the snack trap website.
