an altogether fabulous day.

One of the best parts of celebrating a birthday is having leftover cake for breakfast. This was my breakfast. Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache from Blue Cake Company. Yum-eee!

Then I got an unexpected call from my favorite hair stylist's salon saying that they had an unexpected opening this afternoon. Woot! It is near impossible to get in to see this woman, and I have needed a haircut for months. This is a (bad) picture of my sassy new bob.

Then, after the primping session, my mom watched the boy while Ken and I went to a local bar for one of my favorite foods in the world. That's right people, I had a hankerin' for bar food in the form of BBQ nachos. OMG! They couldn't be more delicious. Just the right marriage of salty, sweet and savory. This was my dinner.


And my good friend Kat FINALLY got tenure! Waa hooie! Try to fire her now university board! Um... not that she was in any danger of being fired.

AND my buddy Lawyerish FINALLY got her referral!! To think it only took a year. Gulp!

Yes, sir. This was a fabulous day.
