powerless.

Literally. I mean it. We are utterly without power. Electricity, I mean. Despite the fact that we live in Arkansas, Gustav packed a mighty wallop. Our town received close to 10" of rain in three days and somehow our power was effected. We have had no juice since Tuesday. Urggghhhh!! Ok, to be completely honest, the power did return for about 10 hours on Tuesday evening, but that was it. Even Beckett's preschool was closed due to outages. According to the repair guy spotted on the street today, the official line is that repairs will be complete by late Saturday, but he thinks Monday is a more realistic outcome. Awesome.

At least we have family close by that is letting us bunk with them. Otherwise this would be unpleasant in addition to aggravating.

And did I mention that I had just been on a marathon grocery shopping trip on Monday? Imagine my delight at the fact that all of my groceries are ruined and now in the trash and that the poor husband had to clean popsicle sludge off of the floor yesterday after it oozed from the freezer. Well, maybe that last part is sort of humorous... At least there are no maggots.
